Hoyt Recurve Bows- The Premium Choice

For almost 85 years, Hoyt Archery has been the brand to go to by serious archers and hunters. Their long history makes them a staple name when it comes to bow-hunting gear. So when you use a Hoyt recurve bow, you are not only assured of the quality but also the craftsmanship that comes with it. To put it simply, you can never go wrong with a Hoyt bow.

More than just a hobby to us, archery is a way of life. Hoyt is home to employees that are driven to build the best bows the world has to offer. There are no compromises. The people behind the scenes at Hoyt are just like you: hardcore bowhunters and target archers who demand the best from their equipment. Our dreams are filled with new bow designs, record book bucks and tournament victories. Since 1931, Hoyt has been leading the way with uncompromising quality, performance and reliability.

They have a wide variety of recurve and compound bows to choose from. Since this article is about recurve bows though, I will focus on them.

Recurve Bows

Hoyt has several kinds of recurve bow under its brand. Here are some of them if you want a more in-depth look on their features.

Buffalo Takedown

This does not come as a surprise as it’s a Fred Eichler Signature series. For all archery enthusiasts, we all know who Fred Eichler is. He’s short of a god in bowhunting. It’s just right that he has his own signature line from Hoyt. Each Buffalo Takedown has its own serial number and you can have it customized according to your needs. This comes with a hefty price tag, of course. This is fitting for those who are already advanced or professional archers and hunters. Draw Weight: 35-65 lbs. Weight: 3.2 lbs. Price: $800 up. Hoyt Gamemaster II

For the serious hunters, the Gamemaster II is out to prove its mettle. It brings together modern and traditional archery in this sleek and beautifully designed recurve bow. It is lightweight and super-slim, making it an easy bow to bring along with you on your hunting trips. Its ultra-slim TEC riser absorbs vibration and eliminates bow-hand torque so you can give an accurate shot. The price is still higher than the competition but you’re buying precision and high-quality craftsmanship so it is all worth it. This one is definitely on top of my list. Draw weight: 40-45 lbs. Weight: 2.9 lbs. Price: $600 up in Amazon

A little trivia on the Hoyt Gamemaster II, it’s the same bow used by Hawkeye in the new Avengers film. Pretty cool, huh? He also used a Hoyt Buffalo in his previous film. Check out the video review on the Gamemaster II:

Hoyt Tiburon

Defined as a traditional bow built for the future, the Hoyt Tiburon is every archer’s dream. It comes with an elegant and simple design. Don’t let the simplicity fool you though, this recurve bow is best for bird hunting because of its high level of accuracy. It is also light and easy to handle. This is recommended for beginner and semi-professional archers but not for those who are only getting into hunting. For the serious hunters, I recommend the Hoyt Buffalo and Gamemaster II. Draw weight: 25-55 lbs. Weight: 3.2 lbs. Price: $600-$700. Find the best price here
